World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can increase the value of armors, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the template for upgrading a weapon is %, it will be able to gain 3% of its previous damage for every time it's upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the Best item upgrader's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, weapons and armor to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained through making crafts, buying from vendors or trading with other players or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components are only available to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Upgrade components, unlike other modifications, can only be applied once. They cannot be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is that is used to upgrade non-amulet ascended or legendary equipment as well as the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging ascended equipment or completing a mission in the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.
