It can even return to its dock to replenish its battery during the cleaning.

It's extremely fast and does an excellent job of cleaning my two-bedroom apartment. It can vacuum carpeted rooms fast and hardwood floors in the living room, kitchen, and hallways with just one sweep. Its suction motor of 8,000pa is quick at picking up dirt, crumbs and pet hair. Carpet detection increases power automatically when it encounters rugs and the dual side brushes help draw out dirt from corners.

The mopping performance is less impressive, though not by much. The rotating mop spins fast and utilizes 2.2lbs to remove dirt and stain. I've noticed that the front arm sticks out a bit more than other robots. This is useful when you're trying to get into tight corners or along baseboards. The same front arms can also be used to sweep larger pieces of debris, such as broken toys and books.

The S1 Pro is also one of the quietest robot mop and vacuums I've tried. It is quieter and doesn't create as much noise when mopping or vacuuming. The only drawback is that the S1 Pro must use a exclusive cleaning solution for mopping and is separate from the vacuum. It's easy to install and is effective however this is something that you'll have to be aware of when you purchase this vacuum solely for the reason of mopping.

The Yiko X1 Omni

The X1 Omni robot vacuum is the most expensive item in our review. It does however, have distinct features that make it worth considering. The X1 Omni's main draw is its enormous dock, which serves as the robot's charging base and housing for two 4 liter water tanks, a cleaning sink and a 2.5-liter dust bin that automatically empties.

The base also has a number of buttons to control the system. These let you manually start cleaning and then recall the robot or start the dock's auto-emptying process. Hold down two buttons to turn off the child lock, which is a nice feature for parents who are worried about kids tinkering with the vacuum.

Like other robotic vacuums the Omni Omni utilizes its camera to detect furniture and obstacles in its path, and then avoid them. True Mapping 2.0 navigation maps your home up to four times faster than laser detection systems.

This can cause the X1 to become stuck when it is entangled in an obstacle, such as the power cable that is draped over a rug. It won't function until you manually untangle it. While this was rare, it was a frustrating experience when it happened, especially since the X1 Omni doesn't come with a "stuck" status alert in its app.

The X1 Omni cannot automatically switch from mopping to vacuuming mode during a cleaning session. You'll have to manually switch between the two modes, which isn't too bad apart from the fact that mopping pads aren't cleaned and dried between uses, which can lead to mildew or mold.

The X1 Omni looks great, thanks to the Jacob Jensen design team (of Bang & Olufsen fame) who designed the sleek, modern base and mopping pad. It's a huge difference from the utilitarian black bases of competitors like Roborock or iRobot. It's also an impressive sight in a market dominated by clunky boxy units.
