The Roomba i7+ can keep up to 10 floor plans and their names using Imprint Smart Mapping, a system that allows it to create maps of rooms so that it can clean them more efficiently. It also integrates with iRobot Home to schedule cleaning jobs, and you can direct your best affordable robot vacuum using the app or voice.

In our testing, the i7+ was more agile and faster than our runner-up, the eufy RoboVac G30, and it picked up large pieces of pet hair from all surface types including carpeting. Its biggest advantage over the eufy the dust bin is self-emptying that eliminates a major cause of maintenance and lowers the amount of time spent cleaning.

We were also awestruck by the i7+’s compatibility with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant AI services. We utilized these services to instruct the robot vacuum reviews on how to begin, stop, or pause cleaning sessions and also to move around the room, and to vacuum a particular area. The iRobot Home App made it easy to connect the i7+ with these services. After connecting, we were able to communicate with the i7+ using voice commands such as "Hey Alexa, vacuum the master bedroom." The V10 is powered by a 7-cell high-energy lithium-ion battery that can provide energy that is not faded for 60 minutes. Its specialized head uses stiff nylon bristles to drive deep into carpets and pick up large particles or fine dust. It comes with three suction modes to meet the task at hand. It is able to swiftly switch from handheld to floor vacuum, and vice versa.

This model also has docks that charge to 100% in around 3.5 hours and provides an easy access to two attachments and a wand clip. This is a huge improvement over older Dysons models, that require a long charge and are difficult to store.

The V10's main drawback is its short running time. As CR's tests show, its marketing claims of up to 60 minutes are misleading. This is an average and not a remarkable time for an electric cordless vacuum powered by batteries. This is still enough to get rid of the majority of an average-sized house, but not quite long enough to cover every area (though an additional run-through often does the trick). This model has its own advantages however: it's light and more maneuverable than earlier Dysons cordless models, and its vacuuming ability is noticeably superior on carpets with low pile.

4. iRobot Roomba 694

The 694 is a standard robot vacuum that's a great choice for those who don't have lots of money to invest in the latest model of robot. It was able to pick up all kinds of debris in our testing and often went over the same area several times to give an extensive clean. Its flat front end helps to get into corners and along the edges of walls, which is a nice addition.

Its smart robot navigation system uses iAdapt technology to steer clear of obstacles and help you navigate your home. However, it lacks the capabilities for mapping of more advanced models, such as our Top rated robot Vacuum picks, the i3+EVO and the j7+ Series. It is prone to getting stuck on phone cords or furniture and is often unable to supply power before returning to its base.

The Xiaomi Mi robot vacuum is superior to the Roomba 694 in all aspects in that it has fewer parts that require regular maintenance and is equipped with an allergen-trapping HEPA filter, incurs lower recurring costs, comes with more advanced automation capabilities and is more efficient in maneuvering itself. It also has a larger dustbin and is charged faster.

The eufy RoboVac X8 has a superior battery life than the Roomba 694. It also has physical boundaries and can be controlled using the voice assistant on your smartphone. It also feels better-built, has a more powerful motor, and works better on floors that are bare and low-pile carpet, while providing a wider array of features for automation.

5. Samsung Jet Bot AI+

Samsung is a well-known brand in home electronics. It's not a surprise that they are also among the top manufacturers of robot vacuums and mop. Jet Bot AI+ has an advanced onboard technology that allows for navigation and obstacle avoidance.

The app offers a wide range of customization options for your robotic cleaner. This includes mopping levels, virtual barriers and behavior modifications docking frequency settings, and many more. It's easy to understand and easy to use, just as is the case with other Samsung devices.

In our tests, the Jet Bot AI+ excelled on hard floors and dealt with dog hair (on carpet) very well, picking up 86 percent of it. It was not as successful in avoiding taller items such as cords or socks. This was disappointing. It's priced higher than other models we've tested and this could be a problem for certain shoppers.
