Greenpower Mobility - All-Energy Medium and Heavy-Duty Vehicles

Greenpower develops and builds, as well as distributes a complete range of low-floor and high-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. This includes transit buses and school buses as cargo buses as well as shuttles.

EV Star

GreenPower Motor Company produces a complete line of high-floor and low-floor all-electric heavy-duty and medium-duty vehicles. Their flagship vehicle is the EV Star Cab & Chassis platform, which can accommodate a variety of upfits and bodies for multiple applications. The platform's design philosophy of clean sheets allows for optimal battery pack placement and a lower center of gravity, resulting in better payload-to-range ratios.

The EV Star REEFERX is designed to serve mid-to-last mile refrigerated delivery and catering. The refrigerated truck's class 4 design's one wall structure in the interior and higher insulation than traditional trucks allow for seamless sanitation, improved temperature control and a more extended life. The EV Star REEFERX offers superior capacity for cargo and a top payload to range ratio that is ideal for zero-emission goods and passenger transportation.

GreenPower has partnered with Perrone Robotics to up-fit the EV Star with their TONY (To Navigate You) autonomous vehicle system, which will allow fleets to easily move to autonomous vehicles. The AV Star is also capable of wireless charging up to 75 kW.

We were able to test drive the EV9 on an unpaved highway for several hours, and found it to be simple to drive, and comfortable to drive for long distances. The EV9 can be used to block the sound of traffic and wind driving along the highway. It is smooth on ruts and humps. The acceleration is surprisingly fast and the car has adjustable regenerative brakes that allow "one pedal driving" by lifting the accelerator.

The EV9 has excellent range and can be fully charged in about three hours at home or with any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. The eco mode is a preference for the cruise control and torque while the sport mode maximizes speed and handling. In addition to the EV9, GreenPower has several other electric vehicles, such as a multi-purpose, all-electric mini bus called the EV Star. The EV Star is ADA compliant and electric Scooter green can be utilized as an executive shuttle, micro-transit or transit bus, vanpool or paratransit vehicle.

GreenPower is already producing around 10 EV Star buses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority, which is working to replace their fleet of old diesel vehicles with 100 all-electric vehicles. With the Biden Administration aiming to electrify schools across the nation, GreenPower plans on ramping production to meet demand. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified, Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This makes them eligible for federal transit grants.
