In our test of how it cleaned baking soda near corners and on baseboards The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction of 2,500Pa was weaker than other robots but it was quiet and swift in its movements. It didn't clean, however, and its removable cleaning pads were difficult to attach and couldn't cope with dirt that had dried on.

Its app is basic with no advanced features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however its voice controls aren't very precise or responsive. It's also a bit sporadic when it comes back to the charging station after the course. Other robots can follow a wall or trace a previous route however, the RX3 bumbles around until it quits.

Another issue we faced was with its smart features, particularly the mapping function and digital keep-out zones. It was good at keeping our furniture legs and shoes away, but it was easily hung up on socks, cables, and rugs. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it in our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and a dazzling performance. It's worth considering as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
