However, it did struggle a little when encountering carpets with a longer pile and also several large, thick piles of dried-on debris.

Like many robots that are available, the S1 Pro comes ready to take off from the box and needs only a quick initial mapping run to learn its way around your home. Once that's done the map is displayed in the app and rooms can be added or merged depending on the need. You can also set virtual boundaries as well as no-go zones if there's something you don't want your robot to get into.
