We had the opportunity to test drive the EV9 for a few hours on a local freeway and found it to be easy to drive and comfortable for long distances. The acceleration is surprisingly quick and the vehicle has adjustable regenerative braking to enable "one pedal driving" by simply taking off the accelerator.

The EV9 has a wide range and can be charged in three hours or less at home, or by using any commercial charger. The driver can select from two operating modes: eco mode and sport mode. Eco mode focuses on the torque and cruise control, as well as handling while sport mode maximizes speed. Both are a lot of fun to drive and offer an experience unlike any other for anyone who has not driven an electric vehicle before.

GreenPower produces about 10 EV Star busses a month for the Jacksonville Transit Authority. The Jacksonville Transit Authority is replacing their older diesel vehicles fleet with 100 green electric scooter cars. GreenPower will increase production to meet the demands of the Biden Administration which wants to electrify all school buses in America. Their EV Star buses are the first of their kind to be Altoona tested and FMVSS certified. They are Buy America compliant, and ADA compliant. This means that they are eligible for federal transit assistance grants. Keep an eye on us for updates as we follow the AV Star on its tour of demonstration later this year.
